Our Program

We offer several different programs that vary from individualized meal plans to eating our nutritionally designed meal replacements. The design of our programs fit easily into any lifestyle. They are especially good for patients who don’t want to plan daily meals for themselves, busy parents and college students who are on the go, or those who spend long hours at work.  Dr. Morgan also tailors individual programs for patients who have health concerns that put them at an increased risk for complications associated with being overweight.

These problems include:

• Hypertension

• Depression

• Diabetes

• Gallbladder Disease

• Elevated Cholesterol and Triglycerides

• Gout

• Joint Pain

• Sleep Apnea

• Fertility

• Acid Reflux

• Post-partum weight gain

• Surgical Risks

• Chronic Fatigue

Our signature program is a structured Protein Sparing Modified Fasting Diet (PSMF) where patients eat only our prescription foods. We have a large variety of foods to choose from including shakes, bars, hot meals, and salty snacks. Patients will get to sample these foods before purchasing them.

The protocol for the PSMF diet is outlined in 3 phases:

  • Phase 1 is the Weight Reduction Phase of the program. During this time patients can expect to lose 2 to 5 pounds a week. Also during this phase, we will teach you a realistic approach to food and body size – something that you can be comfortable with long term.  Patients will set a weight loss goal for themselves that we will evaluate periodically to make sure you are satisfied with your progress. For patients who have difficulty with hunger or cravings, we offer in-house dispensing of appetite suppressants when medically indicated. We also offer B-12 and Lipotrophic Injections to compliment your weight loss program.
  • The second portion of the PSMF is called Realimentation Phase. Patients slowly begin adding grocery store food back into their diet through a systematic multi-week process. At the end of this phase we will do a metabolic analysis to help you maintain your weight loss. The test will tell us how many calories you can take in each day and what those calories should consist of. Once this phase is completed, you will begin the third and final phase of the program.
  • The last and most important part of the program is the FREE Lifetime Maintenance Phase. Studies have shown that you are more apt to keep your weight off when you are actively involved in a supervised weight maintenance program. These studies also show that 18 months is the recommended length of time for optimum, long-term success. The reason behind this theory is that in a period of 18 months, a person will experience a holiday, birthday, vacation, stressful family or work situation, and encounter other celebrations and disappointments that could trigger weight regain. Our Bariatric Specialists will continue to education you on dietary recommendations, exercise, and building new relationships centered around healthy behaviors.
